Madaa Creative Center - Silwan organized an “Art Day” with the participation of more than one hundred children who were distributed across the three branches of the center, “the main branch of Wadi Hilweh, the branch of Ein Al Loza, and the branch of Batn Al Hawa”.
The “Art Day” included many art events. In the main branch of Wadi Hilweh, the children recycled used plastic cups and added other raw materials to make a large mill.
However, in Ein Al Loza branch, the children recycled plastic water bottles and made them into a penguin, and the other children made a model of a “penguin’s house”, during which the staff talked with the children about penguins and the environment in which they live in and the types of food they eat. The “Art Day” also included the making of Madaa board using wool threads, and finally a contest was organized for the most beautiful painting of the Holy Aqsa Mosque.
In Batn Al Hawa branch, the children recycled plastic water bottles and egg cartons to create roses, chicks, a Santa Claus, and a snowman.
It is worth mentioning that the center dedicated an art day for the children in order to develop their abilities, to discover their artistic talents, to improve their sense of comfort through the handcrafts they made; in addition, art is a way for children to express themselves.
