In conjunction with the beginning of Pink October “Breast Cancer Awareness Month”, Madaa Center-Silwan organized a health awareness workshop for women at the Madaa Creative Center Club in Silwan.
About thirty women attended the workshop. The Center provided them with guidance and awareness on the importance of continuous care for their health in general, focusing on the importance of early detection of breast cancer because of its significant role in the treatment.
Specialist Raneem Liddawiyeh explained the methods of preventing breast cancer, the importance of direct detection, self-examination method and treatment methods. The women enriched the discussion through their questions and inquiries on the subject.
One woman shared her personal experience in fighting and overcoming the disease. She gave advice to the ladies present, which focused on telling them not to be afraid or worried and that they need to follow up and be patient and have faith and strength to combat any disease, especially breast cancer.
At the end of the workshop, the Deputy Director of the Center, Ms. Sahar Baydoun, confirmed that this workshop is part of several workshops aimed at providing awareness counseling for women to encourage them to care about their health, as women are the backbone of families and the base of society.
At the end of the meeting, the center distributed pink bracelets bearing the slogan of breast cancer prevention for women to wear and have with them wherever they go and to remind each woman and encourage her to care for her health.
